Our three year old son, who was previously quite averse to childcare settings, has thrived at Southern Cross Montessori. He has become more confident, independent, social and quickly made friends after commencing in term 2 this year. He often tells us how much he loves Montessori, how fun it is and seldom looks back as he runs in the door to meet his friends now. The program has been great for us as a family and as parents, seeing our son finally settle into an early learning environment and making huge leaps in terms of development and behaviour, is extremely satisfying.

Marlon has bloomed at Montessori. Despite being well-traveled and trying out many nurseries along the way he wasn’t ever really comfortable in any of them. Rather than create confidence his world-wide experiences made him timid amidst large new groups of children. Until we came to Montessori here in Torquay. In the last seven months since he started he’s become confident, discovered gorgeous friendships and loved every minute. Its the first childcare that he’s run into happily (sometime without turning to even say goodbye!!). Thanks mainly to a lovely team, the safe, relaxed environment and, for Marlon, the all important ‘welcome’ and friendly face. Top marks and huge thanks SCMontessori.

Both our girls have had a great and memorable experience with the SCM. Their confidence has flourished and their curiosity for learning new things has been encouraged. When Mackenzie transitioned into prep she was oozing self confidence and already reading. The community of the SCM has brought a feeling of extended family to our kinder experience here in Torquay. We always know that Joni is safe, happy, and challenged on her kinder days and is learning to be passionate about learning!

I would have absolutely no hesitations in recommending Toruay Montessori to anybody thinking about sending their 3 or 4 year old to kinder. We are thrilled with just how gently and well our daughter was enabled to ease into kinder life in her own time in her own way. The staff are absolutely amazing and we feel we can relax knowing our daughter is in good and invested hands. Her learning journey has begun in a wonderful and beneficial way. The Montessori model is just incredible and we are amazed at our daughters growing confidence and abilities in many aspects of learning and everyday skills. Thank you to the Montessori team at Torquay Montessori especially Miss Anabel for your knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm for our daughter’s wellbeing and development.

We are extremely happy to have our two children at Montessori, Torquay because of the unique learning environment and warm, dedicated professional staff! My children are guided through the regular learning modules according to their individual interest and capacity, with a one on one personalised approach as well as group work. At Montessori they also learn about home duties, like cooking and cleaning and eagerly practice what they learn at home, showing increased skill and awareness. Further more, my children have learnt about animal care and nature by hands on outdoor activities like growing food and raising chickens, only to mention a few. Montessori seems to promote a healthy, fun, down to earth approach to learning and my children are keen to go as they have lots of fun and make lots of friends. Many events and excursions allow parents ample opportunity to get directly involved with their children at Montessori and build connections with other parents. Definitely been a great experience for all of us!

Our son has attended the 3yo and 4yo kinder program at Southern Cross Montessori. We have found the program to be exceptional, our son has developed so much knowledge, confidence and independence and we feel he is well prepared to start school. We credit the results to the dedicated staff who are committed to delivering the Montessori program customised to suit the individual needs of each student. Our older daughter did not attend a Montessori program and we feel she would have been better prepared for school if she had.
